The H I Theories of Consciousness.

Four Theories.

There are four H I theories of consciousness. Each covers a different aspect of human consciousness and, taken together, give a significant advance in my own, and hopefully others', ability to understand consciousness and, potentially, an ability for science to confirm or modify that understanding through research.
The four theories are not co-dependent in the sense that those that prove to be inadequate over time will not invalidate the others.
The significant contribution of these theories is to provide a potential for testability of these theories in a controlled physical environment.

The H I Theory of Core Consciousness.

This theory cuts “The Hard Problem” down to size by extending the traditional model of the mind from Consciousness and Nonconsciousness by adding a semi-conscious Intelligence layer. Further, a structure is added to consciousness and intelligence by applying evolutionary and behavioural principles which allow an outline logical definition of Core Consciousness.
The revised model of the mind and consciousness allows for the diverse behaviour and states of consciousness that are evident in humanity whilst identifying the functions that represent the core of consciousness. This approach simplifies the problem of understanding consciousness by associating human behavioural functionality to specific brain hemispheres within an evolutionary perspective.

The H I Theory of Consciousness Characteristics.

This theory identifies the key components of conscious, the enablers of consciousness. These basic components are, I suggest, essential for consciousness to exist.

The H I Theory of Conscious Awareness.

This theory describes a potential evolutionary step-by-step process leading to the self-awareness that is at the heart of consciousness. This theory is similar to many descriptions of the evolution of perception and suggests how increases in complexity over time enables new capabilities to emerge.

The H I Theory of Hemispheric Consciousness.

This theory proposes some physical brain-based processes that could be the basis for our experience of dynamic consciousness. Self-awareness as both the observer of self and the object of that observation. This is perhaps the most novel of the theories presented here.
This theory aims to provide ‘testability’ of consciousness by future research. By identifying specific mechanisms that may be related to specific brain areas, the establishment of the physical basis for consciousness may finally be established.

Taken together, these theories could offer a functional appreciation of consciousness as something like “Consciousness is the multi-layered shared awareness of self, following a memory-based timeline from the recent past to a predicted future.”
